Ch20

The 20th century was seen as the collapse of human error, capitalism and humanity
With the end of the modern era, there was a strive for global domination through out the world.  European / "western"assertion of superiority over all cities and move from a colonial empire. Through the development of capitalism guided by enlightenment values.
Main difference between empire and colony was that an empirical conquest was a conquest of nearby communities and people conquered are respected and usually benefit from the conquering.
Colonial the people that are taken over are seen as slaves and are stripped of their belongings and are told to worship the king or nation that has conquered them. The money taken from them are used to benefit the colonizing powers.

WWI- System of alliances led to WWI later extending to a world war. Colonial relationships. The GD was a speculation of the bubble inflation, the mass spending and promises made by the bank that later pops leaving people broke and in debt to the banks.

Crises of the 20th century
Challenges to western world view, and assertion of superiority.
Fascism- Authoritarianism / the people almost being nationalistic on their views pride Germans lost due to the war to put the blame on the Jewish community and anyone else that was not from the arian race. They used horrible ways starting from propaganda to violence in order to eradicate the Jewish people.
Hiroshima / nuclear warfare - The U.S. killed more people with the nuclear bombing or Hiroshima and Nagasaki, because of that the U.S. lost credibility on stance of nuclear weapons to opposing powers.
