ch 23

Globalization seemed to have spread throughout the world during the twentieth century Globalization in immigrant nations such as Asia, Africa, and Latin America have been working in foreign owned production facilities This is where capitalism is seen to flourish, companies will move operations overseas so they can pay workers cheaper and then sell the goods in their nations for 100 time the price it took to produce it. Ram does this with it truck being created in Mexico and Apple with their cellphones being made in China What many do not seem to realizes that the creation of these shops in the short term create job opportunities but in the long term can ultimately destabilize a countries economy and wealth due to unpaid and poor work conditions.  Sweatshops are the cause of the child labour laws because in cases many children die working in certain sweatshops. Strayer explains how we as humans are in the Anthiopocea era where we can ultimately change and improve the world as...

Capitalism can be define as an "economic or political where the country's trade and and industry are controlled by private owners for profit rather than the state."(Dictionary.com) During this time period there were 2 waves of colonial expansion that capitalism brought. By expanding its grip to  North and South America. Spain, Portugal, and Britain sought out to invade the Americas. Longterm consequences were severe and long term, the native people were permanently displaced due to the Europeans and Africans. The "second wave" of colonial expansion occurred in Africa, Asia, and Australia by most European countries including Britain, France, and the Netherlands. For the Australian people, the closest colonial expansion would be the first wave due to the impact it had on the Natives. Many of which were killed due to diseases and others.

Industrial Revolution Movement from state side to to cities, moving from agriculture to business and the push of overpopulation due to the move to cities. Businesses moved to creating the assembly line that would later be used towards the manufacturing of cars.People started using fossil fuel to power their engines at the time due to the amount of burning fossil foil their has been an increase to a point that has never seen before. The rules for workers went up, longer hours, less breaks, more child labor would be used in the textile industry. Due to the rapid hours at work many workers would have to leave their children creating a epidemic and an influx of orphan children.  sick workers couldn't rely on family or community to take care of them. Factories have many safety hazards and due no set regulations  to protect workers many workers would get sick and ultimately back then die. Factories during this time were detrimental but also showed just how useful and res...

Ch20

The 20th century was seen as the collapse of human error, capitalism and humanity With the end of the modern era, there was a strive for global domination through out the world.  European / "western"assertion of superiority over all cities and move from a colonial empire. Through the development of capitalism guided by enlightenment values. Main difference between empire and colony was that an empirical conquest was a conquest of nearby communities and people conquered are respected and usually benefit from the conquering. Colonial the people that are taken over are seen as slaves and are stripped of their belongings and are told to worship the king or nation that has conquered them. The money taken from them are used to benefit the colonizing powers. WWI- System of alliances led to WWI later extending to a world war. Colonial relationships. The GD was a speculation of the bubble inflation, the mass spending and promises made by the bank that later pops leaving people br...

More talk about the Enlightenment ideology and the "echos." The three main concepts being carried out through this time of the enlightenment consisted of Popular Sovereignty, liberty, and equality. Being the back bone to the cause of the American revolution that later inspired the french soldiers that helped the Americans with their own revolution. Because of this the Haitian revolt occurred which resulted in the first successful slave revolt. Shortly after the Haitian revolt the Spanish-American revolution occurred pushing towards a better life with the concepts of freedom and equality. This ideology was not only used for revolution but for reforms and social movements such as the women rights movement and the abolishment of slavery.

De-centering of humans Galileo- built telescope that later had him exiled due to his findings but the Christian society apologized in 1998 for the excommunication they had done This was because of the huge affect it had on the people who believed they were the center of Gods eye and to be told they were not scared them

ch14

Europe in the IOTN Europe wanted in on the IOTN Tried trading post empire: pay tariff and the British will protect you from being conquered  Portuguese saw them as pirates due to the way they "protected" others Spain conquered the Philippines named it after King Philip II: gave them closer proximity to the IOTN Creation of "The companies": private company with government support Obviously the world leader at the time seemed to be China and Europe wanted the spotlight. Nothing seemed to work in conquering closer land, tariffs, companies nothing to bring them closer to obtaining control and being apart of the IOTN The chapter later explained the importance of the fur trade in North American and Serbia. The native Americans and Europe and Serbia and Russia later ending in a bond being created and Serbia paying Russia in fur.

Ch13

Early Modern Area (1450-1750) also known as the "age of empire" violence spread through empire buildings while the rise of globalization  Europeans had advantages when conquering Americas due to their advanced weapons and innovations They did this because of the lust for riches and idea of expansion not just the expansion of area but to expand their religion and ideas upon other regions   I believe the cause for this was because of the positive influence this had on the people, so much more that it overweighed all the bad that they had been doing. When any group (Spanish, European, Americas, and Chinese) look to expand is because of the idea of spreading not just ideas but religion, wealth among their citizens at the cost of the group being conquered.
